Random Thought..
Talking to the general population and bodybuilders, there is something to be said about mental intensity during an exercise. It's all well and good to smash 2 servings of pre-workout, get psyched up and hit a random PR on a set of heavy squats, going to all out failure. Acutely this feels great, strokes the ego and you have something to talk about.
Taking a step back and rationally looking at the situation:
1. Fully amped up you will find it very hard to get a strong mind muscle connection. Suboptimal muscular contractions
2. You are concentrating on moving the weight from A to B.
3. Much less controlled rep execution and rep cadence
4. Much higher risk of injury due to the above and the likelihood of moving out of your active range of motion into passive range.
